1. Brainpop
BrainPop is a an educational website with over 1,000 short animated movies for students in grades K-12 (ages 6 to 17), together with quizzes and related materials, covering the subjects of science, social studies, English, mathematics, engineering and technology, health, and arts and music.
I use this website to introduce students to a chapter by giving them a visual mini movie of the main subject matter. I also used the quizzes to engage students and review material. There are videos for every subject and the worksheets for every video are great resources as well.
2. Authentichistory.com
The Authentic History Center is a great educational website that tells the story of the United States primarily through popular culture. It was created to teach that the everyday objects in society have authentic historical value and reflect the social consciousness of the era that produced them. New interpretive sections are added when substantial resources have been collected.
This site has great primary sources for 8th grade Social Studies classes as well as 11th grade U.S. History classes. You can incorporate audio pieces into your power points and give students an audio lesson. A great example is the audio pieces on FDR's fireside chats and JFK's inauguration speech. There are also videos and audio of the 1920's Harlem Renaissance musicians such as Louie Armstrong and various artists of the 1920's.

I use this website to find great lesson plans for all my different learners. I also use the teacher blogs and I learned a variety of teaching strategies.
